Vibrant

So bright and happy.

Sippin

She figured instead of just playing with my water jug, she would get water out of the straw.

Sleeping Guitars

Look at that elbow dimple!

Daddy Fun

Outside time with Daddy.

Cowabunga

I love and miss that gummie smile.

Yo Dancing

The baby's Aunt Jess and Uncle Ryan bought this onesie for the baby after taking their kids to the live show in KC. This is where her fascination started. Any time I play a YGG video , she goes into a funny dance trance. Some people don't agree with allowing their children to watch shows at an early age and limit TV time. Now, I understand putting her in front of a TV is not suggested for babies, but I don't believe letting her watch an educational program can hurt her. Especially if the program is focused around learning about animlas, colors, numbers and shapes. I swear some of her early vocal and memorization skills can be accredited to watching and listening to these shows. She doesn't watch adult shows, or even cartoons for older children. When she was younger and in a bouncer, I would put on a video and she would go crazy and bounce as fast as she could. Of course videos don't take the place of reading and her learning time, but I see no harm in Dora, Team Umi Zoomi and Bubble Guppies.

Garden Baby

My little garden gnome.

True Blue Baby

Elephant Belly

Another accomplished day of sitting up on her own.

DJ Presley D

The baby's daddy is really, really into music. He practically can not do anything without music playing. He can't even start the car without playing music first. When I was pregnant with her, she would move and bounce when she heard music playing. From an early age, if you had earphones on, she would pull them off to listen for herself. Now, she puts them up to her ear and Maam Ma gave her an iPod. She seems to be more soothed by our music than kid's music. There is a Disney station on XM radio and she could really care less about it. She would much rather music she can dance and bop her head to. Girl after her daddy's heart.

Ready to Go

Seeing these pictures make me laugh, thinking about how difficult it was to take a picture of her. Any time I put her in a sitting postion, she would just flop on to her belly and start surfing. I call it surfing because when she would get on her belly, she started moving her arms and legs really fast, as if she was trying to cut through the water. She was so determined to figure it out. It is so crazy to see your baby's development happen right in front of you. She naturally knew what to do after she figured out how to get on her tummy from a sitting position. She didn't see me or another baby crawl, she just knew. Giving her daily tummy time set the path for everything she's done: crawling, cruising, walking and running. Babies are like beautiful flowers that blossom when you nurture them. I feel so special to be a part of it.
