American Honey

First. Highlights. Topknot. I want her hair. She was born with a little bit of hair but it took a loong time to really come in. She had the cutest pixie when she was a toddler which then turned into a funny little bob. Now, it is making up for lost time. Light brown with honey. I can't tell you how many times I've died + colored my hair for the perfect light brown tone but no matter what, it's never the shade I want. Her daddy's hair turns blonde in the sun + I thought my dark hair gene would be dominant but she got his. My tan skin + his lighter hair. My mixed baby.
Dancing to the mariachis before dinner.
No Nap Ninja giving stink eyes.
snaps from the phone.
Six Flags. It was so hot I didn't get a lot of pics but we had so much fun.
Build-A-Bear
Fiery July Sky.
We planned on my sister + BIL being in town but some of our extended familia decided to come down for the holiday last minute. Couldn't have had a better time. Growing up every holiday was spent with my mom's side of the family + every 4th of July was usually spent at my parents house or at Granny's house on 35th Terrace. Now that we're not in KC anymore + my sister is out of the country, holidays are smaller + so different. Seeing everyone made me think of growing up with all my cousins, aunts, uncles + how lucky I was was to have such a full childhood. Makes me a little sad that Pea doesn't have the same but she knows that even though we don't see them as often as we would like, they are always there + will always love us.
