Watching this girl grow up has been such a privilege. Though it's mostly been through pictures + FaceTime + only about four separate times in person, it's still so exciting to watch her change from month to month. She is now 10 months, a milestone we got to witness while we were visiting CA. We are all now in our hometown of Kansas City + then to TX where we will send them off right before her 11 month birthday. We always figured we would have the opportunity to be a part of her 1st birthday but they will be moved by then. It's all very surreal. Even when we visited + helped pack up their belongings in a crate to travel the sea, I kept forgetting what the end result would be in this whole process. Maybe it's part of my denial. I know we will see her soon after but we will inevitably have to say goodbye again. Goodbyes are never easy but she's going to a great place so that makes it all ok.
