We left early enough for our girl to pass back out after dressing her + waking her up after we packed the car. I dressed her as comfortably as possible so she would be cozy in her seat. It worked +she slept the first 2 hours which was about the half way point so we took a quick break. We talked about when the Mr. + I were much younger, we drove down to Galveston Island from KC in his old pickup with nothing but some clothes, music + ourselves. Now we have her + a bunch of other stuff we probably won't need. Seems like a lifetime ago.
She snacked the rest of the way + watched movies on her mini DVD player + tablet. I love wide open spaces with nothing but land as far as the eye can see, it reminds me of Missouri + its green landscape. We live in a busy city so when I can see more nature I am all about it. We saw horses, cows, trains, planes + lots of palm trees + cactus. I love seeing new parts of Texas. Reminds me of why we moved here in the first place. We're technically only a couple of hours from the beach but we wanted to see a different part so we decided on South Padre Island + drove all the way down to the edge of Texas to see the Gulf of Mexico.
