Well again, life has been happening + posts have taken a back seat. We've been busy in sunny, sometimes cloudy, San Francisco California. As I have mentioned before, my sister is moving across the world so we came out to help tie up some loose ends. We didn't plan on being gone for her birthday but I figured we may as well because I don't know when she will be able to spend it with her only first cousin again.
These pics are from October + a cold front has since moved in to our part of Texas so the sandals have been put up which is really sad because these beauts most certainly won't fit her in the spring. Cue the violins. I know, first world problems. Luckily, the cardigan + skirt will. As I said in my last post, I shop everywhere for her clothes + Walmart is where I purchased both. This might surprise people who think I spend a fortune on her clothing + it might appall some that actually do spend a ton. Zara is incredibly cute but the price points are so obnoxious sometimes. However, I did buy these sandals there but only because they were 1/2 off on sale + I got free shipping. The quality is nice + goes a bit further since she can wear her shoes more in rotation. I will say, you get what you pay for. Even though her top + skirt together were both still cheaper than the shoes, she's worn them with multiple outfits so it evens out.
Women go crazy about their clothes for kids + think Zara is the only place to get fashion forward clothes for tots. Hmmm wrong. My sister pointed me in the direction of a funny 20 something girl blog talking about how women her age are constantly shopping to be equal to their peers. She said when you start to look like a Zara look book, you have drank the koolaid. People get so wrapped up in labels + compete to see who has the means to spend endless amounts of money instead of being their own person. Well not much changes in motherhood with kids, if anything, woman are more judgmental + cutthroat about what stroller you have, where you shop, how crazy your babies' names are etc. Same arena just a different game. What I've learned on my own, even before a baby, was that you can not buy style. Fashion fades but style is eternal.
